🎙️High participation in the joint IMPACT EU-project & REMODEL-project webinar: iPSCs for the translational research on rare diseases 🔬
🔬 We are proud to announce that the webinar “Exploiting iPSCs-based research: How REMODEL & IMPACT contribute to disease modelling” was successfully held today!
The event provided a concrete and practical overview of the use of iPSCs as an advanced tool for modelling rare diseases, combining innovative approaches and applications directly from the two R&D projects.
👩🔬 Villa Chiara vanaf Università degli Studi di Milano, representing the REMODEL-project, showed how iPSCs are used to study neuromuscular diseases, with practical examples in reconstructing key aspects of the disease, while Martina Calore, from Universiteit Maastricht for the IMPACT EU-project, illustrated the application of iPSCs in the study of arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (ACM), highlighting how these models are able to develop personalised intervention strategies.
💡 The two presentations highlighted how iPSC-based research is changing how rare diseases are studied, giving us a deeper understanding of disease mechanisms and opening up new possibilities for personalised medicine.
🙏 Many thanks to all the speakers for their inspiring presentations and to our audience for joining us!
Stay tuned for future events, scientific results and developments in the IMPACT EU-project!
